Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) is a spiral-shaped bacterium that is found in the gastric mucous layer or adherent to the epithelial lining of the stomach. H. pylori is associated with 98% of patients with duodenal ulcer and around 80% of those with gastric ulcer. Approximately two-thirds of the world’s population is infected with H.pylri. The basis for diagnosing H.pylori infection by fecal antigen test is detective of all isotypes of the organism present in the fecal sample.
